Used Spinning Wheels
All of our used spinning wheels have been thoroughly tested and are in excellent working order when we put them on the floor. We take consignment equipment at the shop and we get a lot of very nice used spinning wheels here at The Nook. These previously owned wheels range from Schacht Matchless to Ashford Traditionals. We get antique wheels and collectors items as well.
Spinning wheels are like the Harry Potter wand. When you find your match, you will know it. Selection for your spinning level and needs is key. We do a good job of being sure you are comfortable with the wheel and the price before we let one out for adoption. We also offer classes in both spindling and spinning on a wheel.
If you buy a wheel online and can’t come by the shop, we ship. Your wheel will be carefully packed and will arrive in good working order. If we have to take the wheel apart to ship, we include assembly instructions.
Our goal at The Nook is to match a wheel to the spinning wizard! So pick out your wand and enjoy the wonder of spinning fiber into yarn!
Used Looms
We love our looms and we will get yours sold if you no longer use it or want to upgrade to a floor loom. If you have a 4 harness loom, it must be no bigger than 18". If you have an eight harness table loom of any size, we will be able to sell it quickly for you. There are many people who want to learn how to weave or who want a table loom instead of a floor loom. So we will find a good home for your loom if you consign it with us.
All equipment must be clean and in good working order. If we have to clean or repair your loom, we will subtract our time and supplies from your part of the commission. Please make sure the loom comes with lease sticks, at least 1 shuttle, and a heddle hook.
Consignment Policies
We take used Spinning Wheels, Table Looms, and Drum Carders on Consignment. The consignor gets 50% of the sale price. The shop advertises your item, packs it, ships it, and makes every effort to insure the quality of your item is maintained.
We no longer take yarn, small pieces of equipment (like stick shuttles, knitting needles, kits, etc.) or fiber/fleece on consignment. We require the consignor to pick up their item(s) 3 months after consignment if it has not sold. If the item is not picked up, it becomes the property of the shop.
